# How to make your testimonial carousel slide automatically (autoplay)

Make your testimonial carousel move to the next card on its own. Autoplay is switched on through a special version of the carousel embed code.

By default, visitors move through your carousel with the arrows or dots. If you'd like it to move on its own, use the autoplay version of the carousel embed code. There's no switch in the widget settings for this; it's all in the code.

## Steps

1. Open your wall and click **Testimonial Widget**.
2. Make sure the widget is published, then click **Get Embed**.
3. Click **Carousel Embed** on the left.
4. Scroll to **For moving carousel cards automatically, use this autoplay embed code** and click the **Copy Embed code** button under it.
5. On your website, replace your current carousel code with the code you copied.

The only difference from the normal carousel code is `data-autoplay="1"`. If you prefer, you can add that attribute to your existing code instead.

## How autoplay behaves

* The carousel moves to the next card every 4 seconds. The speed can't be changed.
* It pauses while a visitor's mouse is over it.
* Once a visitor clicks an arrow or a dot, or swipes, autoplay stops so they can read at their own pace.
* After the last card, it goes back to the first.

## Good to know

* Autoplay only works with the carousel layout. The dual slider always moves on its own, and the grid doesn't move.
* Your other widget settings, like colours and card design, still come from the dashboard, so you don't need to replace the code again after changing them.
