# How to add a background colour behind your widget

Add a soft gradient behind your testimonial widget, or keep it transparent so it blends into your page.

By default your widget has a transparent background, so it takes on the colour of the page it sits on. If you want the testimonials to stand out as their own section, add a gradient background behind them.

## Steps

1. Open your wall and click **Testimonial Widget**.
2. In the **Branding Customization** panel, find **Background Appearance**.
3. Click **Wall Background** and pick one of the gradients. The swatch with the "no" symbol means no background.
4. Click **Save Widget Changes**.

## Good to know

* The background covers the whole widget area: the AI summary, review banner, category buttons and cards.
* You can only choose from the preset gradients. For a custom colour, keep the background transparent and set the colour of the section on your own website instead.
* Dark mode doesn't change the background. If you use dark cards on a light gradient, pick a darker gradient or no background.
* The popup widget doesn't use this background.
* The Wall of Fame page has its own **Wall Background** setting in its **Brand Customization & Settings** panel.
