# I saved my changes but my website still shows the old version

Your widget, Wall of Fame page or collection page still looks the old way after you changed a setting. Here's what to check.

Most of the time the change is saved and just needs a few minutes to show up, or one step was missed. Work through this list.

## 1. Did you click the Save button?

Changes are only published when you click the save button at the bottom of the settings panel:

* **Testimonial Widget**: **Save Widget Changes**
* **Wall of Fame Page**: **Save Wall of Fame Changes**
* **Collection Page**: **Save Edit Changes**

<figure><img src="https://2234661409-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwC4Q7ClSbJAc9WcmAoGA%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d76108a46e28aa0d4c836831b367e9f45ff74da6%2Fpub-save-button.png?alt=media" alt="The Save Widget Changes button glowing at the bottom of the widget settings"><figcaption><p>The save button glows when you have unsaved changes</p></figcaption></figure>

The button glows while you have unsaved changes. A few settings don't make it glow but still need saving. On the widget, those are **Font Style**, **Review Banner Position**, **Popup Alignment Position** and **Widget Layout**. On the Wall of Fame page, they're the wall name, logo, description, menu links, font and the Send Testimonial and bottom call-to-action switches. If you changed one of these, click save anyway.

## 2. Wait a few minutes

Embedded widgets are cached for speed. After you save, it can take up to about 5 minutes for your website to show the new version. Wall of Fame pages and collection pages update straight away.

## 3. Refresh without your browser's cache

Reload the page with **Ctrl + Shift + R** (Windows) or **Cmd + Shift + R** (Mac), or open it in a private window.

## 4. Is it the right wall?

The embed code on your website contains your wall URL, for example `data-src="your-wall"`. Make sure it matches the wall you're editing. If you changed the wall URL recently, your old embed code no longer works and needs replacing. See [How to change your wall's name, URL or logo](/publishing-sharing-and-branding/change-wall-name-url-logo.md).

## 5. Some changes need a new embed code

Most widget settings update your website without touching the code. Two don't:

* **Switching between Grid, Carousel and Dual Slider.** The layout is part of the embed code. See [How to switch your widget between Grid, Carousel and Dual Slider](/testimonial-widget-settings/switch-widget-layout.md).
* **Switching to or from the Popup design.** The popup uses its own embed code.

## 6. Is it published?

If the widget or page shows nothing at all, check that it's still published. See [My testimonial widget isn't showing on my website](/testimonial-widget-settings/widget-not-showing.md).
