🥇How the Review Stats widget and Review Schema snippet calculate your rating

How the Review Stats widget and the Review Schema snippet calculate your average rating and review count, and what the snippet shows to Google.

The Review Schema & Stats Snippet tab gives you two pieces of code: a snippet that tells Google your average rating, and a small widget that shows "Rated 4.8/5 from 120 reviews" on your website. Both use the same numbers.

Review Schema and the Review Stats widget need a paid plan.

Where to find them

Open your wall and click Review Schema & Stats Snippet in the left menu. Use Copy Embed Code for the review schema, and Copy Review Stats Code for the widget.

Both snippets are on the Review Schema & Stats Snippet tab

How the numbers are calculated

  • The count includes every testimonial on the wall: written, video and audio. Archived testimonials are counted too. Deleted ones aren't.

  • Testimonials without a star rating count as 5 stars. If many of your testimonials have no rating, the average will be close to 5.

  • The average is rounded to one decimal place.

  • The widget updates automatically as your testimonials change.

Good to know

  • Paste the review schema code into the <head> section of your website. After that, it can take 2 to 4 weeks before search engines show star ratings in results, and it's up to them whether they show them at all.

  • Check the snippet with the Schema.org validator after adding it.

  • In the validator, the rating appears under the name "Famewall Review Snippet". This name can't be changed.

  • If your plan changes to Free, the widget stops showing the rating and the schema is no longer added. Remove both snippets from your website.
